The Blame

"The Blame"

I did clean my room.
Honest.
But then, I left for water,
came back, and there he was;

Mr. Leprechaun, once again.

I lunged and we collapsed to the floor,
couldn’t keep him within my arms
as he dove wall to wall

rearranging, picture frames, toys,
throwing bed sheets to the floor!

then leapt, he did, to the fan, spun
'round, and round, all my clothes,
papers flung about!

And out he went through my open window.

When I looked at the clock,
it was time for Davids party..

"Goodnight"

Goodnight

I breath in serenity,

search the buttermilk sky
for sheep in her veil of white,

fill myself
with crisp tranquility

settle into stillness

beneath a blanket of
cornflower blue

and whisper "Goodnight".
